Whitney White
Whitney White | Co-Founder, Board Member, President & CTO
Dr. Whitney White has more than 8 years of experience in polymer optical fiber (POF) research and development. Prior to founding Chromis Fiberoptics, Dr. White was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories and OFS Laboratories. During his tenure at Bell Labs and OFS Labs, Dr. White was the principal inventor of the fluid pressure extrusion method of manufacturing POF. He also studied the fundamental aspects of POF transmission properties and intrinsic optical properties of fluorinated optical polymers.

Dr. White also serves as a technical expert in POF in optical fiber standards bodies, including the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). He is the author or co-author of 8 technical articles on polymer optical fiber, as well as 37 other articles on fundamental aspects of polymer physics and low-temperature physics. He holds 7 US patents in the field of POF. Dr. White earned his Ph.D. (Applied Physics, 1994) and M.S. (Electrical Engineering, 1988) degrees from Stanford University. He is a summa cum laude graduate (Electrical Engineering, 1985) of Texas A&M University.

Miri Park
Miri Park | Co-Founder, Board Member & COO
Dr. Miri Park has more than 6 years of industry and manufacturing experience in various fields of communication technology. Before founding Chromis Fiberoptics, at OFS Labs, Dr. Park was responsible for the construction and operation of the measurement facility for POF manufacture, including design of test apparatus and product database. At Agere Systems and Bell Labs, Dr. Park led a production yield optimization team and a process development team for various optoelectronic communication products such as photo detectors and lasers. She also managed Design, Control & Verification activities for a photo detector product introduction.

Dr. Park is the author or co-author of 6 technical publications on polymer optical fibers and communication laser devices, as well as 24 additional articles on block co-polymers, nano-technology, device processing, and low temperature physics. Dr. Park completed her post-doctoral program from Physics Department and Material Institute at Princeton University.
She received her Ph.D. (Experimental Applied Physics, 1995), M.S. (Applied and Engineering Physics, 1992), and B.S. (Applied and Engineering Physics, 1988) degrees from Cornell University.
