Chromis Fiberoptics makes a range of plastic optical fiber and cable products in our New Jersey factory for a variety of markets, applications and customers in the U.S. and abroad. Over the past few years we have seen a marked preference among our domestic customers for products “Made in the U.S.A.”, especially if the quality and price are competitive with alternatives. This preference is not unique to U.S. buyers. Our foreign customers frequently ask if they can buy our products locally, mostly to save on shipping costs and to get faster deliveries. In fact, we are a global company, with value chain partners in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. So for economic, cultural and social reasons, we try to produce as much of our final products in the markets in which they will be sold.
